Andrea Amico is a nationally recognized PFAS advocate and co‑founder of the Testing for Pease community action group, where she has led efforts since 2014 to raise awareness, secure health studies, and advance policy change after her family was impacted by PFAS contaminated drinking water at the former Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire. Her advocacy has helped achieve PFAS blood testing, multiple health studies, drinking water regulations, and congressional attention, including testimony before the U.S. Senate, a TEDx talk, and presentations to the CDC and National Academies of Science. She is also a co‑founder of the National PFAS Contamination Coalition, helped organize the first National PFAS Conferences, and serves in multiple community leadership roles. Honored as USA Today’s New Hampshire Woman of the Year in 2025 for advocacy work on PFAS, Andrea also holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy and works full time in neurological rehabilitation while raising three children with her husband in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Andrea will speak about her unexpected journey as a community leader on PFAS contamination and how her work has inspired local, state, federal, and global change. She will also provide education on what PFAS are, where they are found, why we are concerned, and what we can do to address PFAS contamination.
