St. John’s Episcopal Church

Historic Portsmouth Chamber Music 2018 warmly welcomes the Neave Piano Trio, currently based in Boston, back to Portsmouth to open our 2018 series. The trio will perform Faure’s Trio Op. 120 in D Minor, an unquestioned masterwork and one of Faure’s final compositions, the Trio by Leonard Bernstein, written while Bernstein was still a student at Harvard, and Shostakovich’s powerful and emotional Piano Trio No. 2 in E Minor, written at the height of the World War II horror in 1944, and just after the death of a dear friend.
