My first few weeks at the Portsmouth Athenæum have been a whirlwind. As I learn more and more, I am increasingly excited about the organization and its future. The Athenæum has played an important role in preserving and interpreting Portsmouth history for over 200 years. I am truly honored to have the opportunity to guide the organization as it transitions from the capable hands of Keeper and Executive Director Tom Hardiman to its new long-term leader and next phase of growth. The Athenæum has a committed Board of Directors, a talented staff and a dedicated membership. The Athenæum programs, concerts, and exhibitions are a vital part of the Portsmouth community while the archival resources and book collection are of national importance. I look forward to working with everyone involved as together we move the Athenæum forward.
