Athenaeum Proprietor Dr. Fred Schubert will give an illustrated talk on the life and scientific achievements of Benjamin Thompson, Count Rumford. This talk will emphasize his pivotal scientific experiments concerning the nature of heat. His remarkable practical activities affecting the city of Munich in Bavaria will also be discussed. In considering these topics, other aspects of his singular life story will naturally arise.
