Come to the opening reception for What Hawthorne Read, a traveling exhibit from the Salem Athenaeum in Salem, MA.
Curator Elaine von Bruns explores the circulation records and the hundreds of books checked out of the Salem Athenaeum’s library by Nathaniel Hawthorne and then reveals how these specific titles influenced Hawthorne’s own writings in What Hawthorne Read.
The reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.
The exhibit runs until June 9, 2018 in the Randall Gallery, Tuesday through Saturday from 1 p.m to 4 p.m.
