Sunday, April 7th

2 – 4 p.m.
Levenson Room, Portsmouth Public Library

Seeking your history knowledge and memories!
Did you, or your family members, grow up in the South End?
Did you attend the Haven School?

The Haven Elementary School Neighborhood Group is working with the Portsmouth Athenaeum, Portsmouth Public Library, and Strawbery Banke Museum to preserve Haven school’s history and make the materials available for public research. Some photographs have already been preserved and digitized, and attendees will be asked to help identify them. There will be a brief overview of the project followed by the opportunity for attendees to exchange Haven stories and share photos about life as it really was in the Haven Neighborhood. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist in collecting your stories, whether written or spoken.

If you or members of your family went to Haven Elementary school or if you grew up in the Haven School Neighborhood, you can help us make history by joining us at the Portsmouth Public Library on Sunday, April 7, from 2 to 4 p.m.

If you have any questions, please contact Sherm Pridham at shermcat1@comcast.net. In addition, if you attended other elementary schools in Portsmouth, the challenge is on you to help preserve your school’s history. Contact Sherm for more information.

Special thank you to Athenaeum volunteer Peter Randall for scanning the donated photo albums from the family of Haven coach Arthur Clough Sr.
