Several cases are examined that highlight our developing knowledge of dietary needs. The discussion begins in the 18th century, when the scourge of scurvy decimated sailing crews. It concludes with issues that are still problematic in the 21st century. As nutrients are considered, some light is shed on the origins of life.
This program will be in the third-floor Shaw Research Library.
