The talk focuses on selected people and events, including Galileo, Hobbes, Darwin, Lysenkoism, the Scopes trial and a couple of more recent landmark court cases relating to science and medicine. Initially, it will consider some thoughts of the Ancient Greeks underpinning ideas addressed in the talk.
Fred Schubert has had a long career in teaching and research. He is inventor on a number of U.S. Patents. He has taught the History of Science for many years.
